Greetings Berkshires-based Businesses & Organizations,

Since 2020, Indigenous Peoples’ Day - Berkshires has become a celebrated annual event that is creating ripples of positive change, healing and transformation in our community.

Your choice to sponsor this work is what allows it to happen each year.

We are very grateful for all the support in past years from sponsors for Indigenous Peoples' Day in the Berkshires. Now in our fourth year on Main Street in Great Barrington, this celebration is becoming part of the cultural fabric of our community.

We take pride in knowing that this historic gathering continues to be supported by the Berkshires business community. It's so important for the children in our community to experience the hope, renewal, and positive outlook that this community healing event brings. Our annual event has become a cornerstone of our community, bringing together people of all backgrounds to honor Indigenous cultures, history, and traditions.

Over the last three years, we have invited families from the Stockbridge Munsee Band of the Mohicans to visit their ancestral homelands. Many tears of joy have been shed.  This year, we will continue to do the same.

What's more, through our annual gatherings, new relationships are being fostered with community members of neighboring tribal communities, including the Nipmuc, Ramapough, and Mohegan.

Please spread the good news to your colleagues about our Ceremonial Walk on Main Street in Great Barrington, on Sunday, October 13th, from 12:00 - 3:00pm.

Speakers will include AVF Co-Directors Shawn Stevens & Lev Natan, Leigh Davis, a representative from the WEB Dubois Legacy Committee, Chief Jake Singer, Lev Natan, and many more...

And, new this year…we are hosting a DEEP NETWORKING CIRCLE on Thursday, October 10th, to bring together our community of sponsors and key partners, so we can deepen our capacity to collaborate and work together in the years-to-come.

With your support, we can continue to grow this important celebration and make a lasting impact. We are excited to invite you to partner with us in celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day this year. Your organization will be honored, thanked and promoted as standing for this important cause. Join us today as an official sponsor.

How your financial donation makes a difference

By generously offering your financial support, you ensure IPD continues to be a staple in the Berkshires community.

Since 2020, Alliance for a Viable Future has become the official organizer for Indigenous Peoples’ Day (IPD) in the Berkshires.

why this matters to you

Partnering with us says that your business / organization is an ally of indigenous people; specifically the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans, the original inhabitants of the Berkshires.

Honoring Indigenous People’s Day is a step toward healing, truth and reconciliation in response to the immense harm of colonization done to Indigenous people. Building a green, regenerative economy includes repairing the roots of our destructive past economic & social systems.

what does sponsorship mean?

Sponsorships are itemized as a marketing expense, and give you and your organization positive exposure in the Berkshires. The sponsorship fee is not tax-exempt. To make a tax-exempt donation, click here.

Our mission at Alliance for a Viable Future (AVF) is to
develops leadership and builds alliance for bioregional climate solutions and intercultural peacemaking
in the Berkshires and throughout the Northeast.

We are building a network of indigenous creators, community businesses & organizations, spiritual leaders, activists, and thought-leaders to engage citizens throughout the Berkshires and the entire Northeast in a collective effort to amplify our bioregional climate leadership.

Our climate emergency requires grassroots solutions - organizations and businesses working hand-in-hand, with each other, to solve local problems and fuel positive impact. Systemic racism and the climate crisis are two sides of the same multifaceted coin - a result of the long history of colonialism that disregards people and the planet. By working to foster unity and reconciliation, we are working to create climate solutions that start with empowering people, healing communities, and connecting the dots between issues that we have been incorrectly taught are unrelated.

Thank you for being part of the solution. Thank you for walking with us!
